From Educator to Instructional Designer
I was a third grade teacher when schools closed down at the beginning of the 2020 pandemic…
I had a week to learn how to make all of my printed curricular materials digital, accessible, and engaging. With some help from online tutorials, I learned how to set up a classroom on Google Classroom (and eventually Canvas) and establish a shared folder for other teachers to access the digital materials I created (and vise-a-versa).
When teachers asked how to use a program, I recorded screencasts that walked them through a program. It was during that time that I discovered how much I enjoy creating instructional materials for students and teachers. And, as a result, I decided to pursue a career in Instructional Design.
